Porongurup National Park Walk trails (1 min & 5 mins)
Beautiful walking trails and spectacular views. Notably Castle Rock ( 2hrs), Millinup Pass, Tree in the rock ( 20 mins), Devil's Slide (2 hours), Nancy's Peak and Morgan's View circuit (2.5 hrs).
Walpole (2 hrs)
An idyllic seaside town set in the natural unspoiled environment of the majestic Walpole-Nornalup National Park.
Denmark ( 1 hour)
A small town, set in beautiful forest, with cafes, exhibitions, wonderful wineries, walk trails, wildflowers and whale watching.
Albany city ( 45 mins)
The largest city in the area, Albany can provide plenty of shopping and eating options for the traveller.
The Porongurup Chalets
This is us! Ideally situated less than 1 km from the main National Park gates, and providing a perfect base to explore the region.
Mt. Barker town ( 20 mins)
This small town is conveniently close to the chalets and can provide all your general shopping needs.
Bluff Knoll (45 mins)
1,073m - the highest peak in the south-west of Western Australia. About a three to four hour climb, with spectacular views of the Stirling Range National Park.
Valley of the Giants ( 1.5 hrs)
The famous Treetop Walk - see the upper levels of the towering Karri forest ecology close up, but don't miss the Ancient Empire walking trail on the ground either!
The Lily (50 mins)
Dutch windmill. Spectacular views of the Stirlings.
Porongurup vineyards ( 1 min - 15 mins)
11 award wining wineries in the Porongurup district, many with cellar sales and some with light food.
Mt Barker TV tower & scenic lookout (25 mins)
The tallest tower in the Southern Hemisphere, offering majestic views in all directions.
Banksia Farm (25 mins)
Nationally renown Banksia Farm with all species of Banksia & Dryanda.
Guided tours and light refreshments.
St Werburgh's chapel (35 mins)

Great wineries, some offering light refreshment as well as cellar sales.
Try Gilbert's on Albany Hwy for lunch.
Old Police Station Museum (25 mins)
Excellent local museum, with a guided tour lasting over an hour from knowledgible folk. (NB Only open weekends)
